Best Bowflex Home Gym Reviews

  1. Bowflex Pr1000
  2. Bowflex Xceed (formerly PR3000)

Let’s jump into a summary of each of them, what they cost and what comes with each of the home gym machines below.

Bowflex Pr1000 Home Gym

Bowflex PR1000 Home Gym

PR1000 is the least expensive out of all the Bowflex home gym models sporting over 25 exercise possibilities. This is a well built starter home gym for the price. It does use the Bowflex patented power rod resistance system.

Updated 12/01/2021: The PR1000 is an old model. It has been upgraded and is now called Bowflex Xtreme Home Gym.

Features

  • Rowing option
  • Media rack to store ipad or phone
  • Folding bench option. Incline and flat options.
  • Entry level
  • Cheapest out of all the models.
  • Squat Station

There is a built in pulley system that you actually attach the rods to provide the weight resistance that you need for your exercise. The weight resistance range starts at 5 pounds and goes up to 200 pounds of resistance if you have all 5 rods attached to the cable system.

Dimensions

The gym dimensions are 85 inches in height, 84 inches long and 38 inches wide. So, at 6 foot and 3/4 of an inch you should fit in any room that you have in the house without any issues of it touching a ceiling. The actually recommended workout area to store the gym is 100 inches by 78 inches wide. To be safe you should have 87 inches of room. It is 86″ when folded up.

Bowflex Xtreme does have a horizontal bench press, lat pull down, leg curl and extensions to work several muscle groups. There is also a built in rowing machine handles to get a bit of cardio in as well. What’s unique about this unit, is that you can fold the bench for easy storage if you are limited on space.

One important note though, you can not upgrade this to the 310 pound rods. You are stuck with the 200 pound resistance and it cannot be upgraded.

Again this is a great home gym for beginners, people who don’t need a lot of weight and for people who want a cheap home gym that won’t break their pocket book.

So, there is a 1 year warranty on the frame itself, the power rod system have a 5 year warranty and there is a 60 day warranty on any parts that break.

Bowflex Xceed Home Gym (formerly Bowflex PR3000)

Bowflex Xceed, the bigger Bowflex home gym

The main difference in the Xceed compared to the Blaze is that it has a vertical bench. So, this means you will be doing your bench press sitting up vs laying flat on the bench.

The Leg attachment is better than the PR1000 or the Blaze. It’s more of what you would expect at the gym. One thing to mention here is that the bench does not flatten out like it does with the pr1000 model. So, there are few exercises you can do with this Bowflex home gym.
